The usage tips for large-area coloring with wall painting brushes

In wall paintings, large-scale coloring is a common challenge. Here are some practical tips to help you complete this task more efficiently:

First, choose the appropriate tools

Board brush

For large-scale coloring, a board brush is an ideal choice. The brush has a large canvas, which can quickly cover a large area and improve the painting efficiency.

Choose a high-quality board brush with soft and elastic bristles, which can evenly apply the paint and avoid brush marks.

Drum:

For very flat and large areas of walls, rollers can be considered. The roller can apply pigments quickly and evenly, and is particularly suitable for the treatment of large areas of base color.

When using a roller, pay attention to controlling the force and speed well to avoid leaving roller marks or uneven color.

Second, master the correct coloring techniques

Pigment blending

Before large-scale coloring, make sure the pigment has been thoroughly mixed and evenly distributed. If the pigment is not mixed evenly, it may cause color differences or mottling after coloring.

For large-scale coloring, it is recommended to use the color of the pigment itself and avoid excessive blending to prevent color deviation.

Coloring sequence:

Coloring from top to bottom and from left to right helps maintain the consistency of the picture.

For complex patterns or color transitions, you can start coloring from the light areas first and then gradually transition to the dark areas.

Force control

When applying color with a brush or roller, maintain a moderate force to avoid excessive force that may cause the paint to splash out or damage the wall surface.

For detailed areas, you can slightly reduce the force to avoid overly dark colors or brush marks.

Color transition

If you need to achieve a color transition effect, you can first apply a base color, then gradually add the desired color, and adjust the color transition with a brush or spray gun.

In the transition area, you can use gentle patting or sweeping to make the colors blend more naturally.

Third, pay attention to the handling of details

Edge processing

When applying color over a large area, it is important to control the edges of the pigment well to prevent it from overflowing into unwanted areas.

You can use masking tape or masking film and other tools to stick them on the areas that need protection to prevent pigment contamination.

Color uniformity

If you find that the color is uneven after coloring, you can use a soft brush to color the areas that need to be evenly applied, add more water, and run it several times before the paint dries to make the color smoother and brighter.

For hard-to-cover areas, such as the small concave and convex parts of the wall, you can use a brush dipped in paint to dot the uncolored areas and then apply it evenly.

Fourth, other precautions

Pigment selection:

Choose high-quality acrylic paint, which has good adhesion and durability and is suitable for wall painting.

Choose the appropriate color as needed and avoid excessive blending to prevent color deviation.

Wall preparation:

Before coloring, make sure the wall surface has been properly treated, such as leveling and applying a primer, to enhance the adhesion and durability of the pigment.

For uneven walls, putty powder can be used for repair to make the wall surface smoother and flatter.

Construction environment

Keep the construction environment well-ventilated to avoid damp and dark conditions that may affect the drying of the paint and the effect of the wall painting.

During the construction process, pay attention to safety and avoid the paint splashing into your eyes or skin.
